Danuser Manufacturing

This family-run business started in 1910 and was founded by Swiss emigrant, Kasper Berry Danuser.

The original shop (which was located on the present plant site) handled maintenance and general repair work. In the summertime, it thrashed grain with steam power and saw-milled in the off-season. In the 1930’s, the family acquired a unique automotive piston ring for distribution throughout the state of Missouri. The “Cord Poston Ring” stopped excessive use of oil and nearly every piston ring company uses this design today. This business is also known for producing the first portable air compressor, a tree-moving machine, and the first rear-mounted blade developed in the United States for a tractor.
