When this building first opened in 1967 it was called The Memorial Union and was nicknamed the “Living Room of the University”. The student body declared that it should be a place where all Aggies (past, present and future) could gather together and appreciate.

The Student Center functions as a community center for North Carolina A&T State University and its constituency by providing a diversity of services, activities, and amenities. The student center serves as the headquarters for the Student Government Association, Student University Activities Board, Aggies Ride, Recreation area.
